With an estimated 50,000 Chinese residents on Vancouver Island, VI Weekly represents a unique advertising opportunity to reach this valuable niche market in their native language. To honour this initiative, VI Weekly is launching an Ambassador Program, aiming to recruit both students and local businesses to offer the Chinese community with a Mandarin translation of local business profiles.
Ambassadors or candidates who sign up for this rewarding program would translate a businesses’ service or product profile into Mandarin, for the businesses’ use only. Each business can write up to 800 words for free translation, and each additional word is only $0.08. The ambassadors can also help businesses further communicate with the Chinese customers when necessary.
